Let the journey begin

So here we are in Ohio to embark on our n journey(ok so it's two days later but just follow me for a minute).  We left our home at what felt like the crack of dawn and drive 9 1/2 hours.  I would say about every 30 minutes we heard "are we there yet" coming from one fidgeting little boy.  You would have thought he would have fell asleep.  No, well not until the final hour that is!  That however didn't end well.  CC has a difficult time with naps and usually will wake up agitated and crying.  We had to pull off on the hi way for a "nature pee" to distract him and help him regulate himself. Fun times!  We arrived at our hotel only to find our non-smoking room smelled like smoke!  The staff here is great and tried everything, but, we are going to have to switch rooms tomorrow.

Ok so back to the journey.  Yesterday morning we woke up and readied our selves to finally meet Pace.  With all the other families sitting there patiently we watched as each dog was brought out to meet their match.  CC was doing a good job being patient as he was the last to receive Pace.  When he saw him coming he could hardly contain himself!  It was amazing.  Although it only lasted a few minutes until CC was no longer interested and went to play with all the toys.  To be exact he lined them all up from one side of the room to the other!  Then it was lunch time.  We were given a break to find a local place to eat.  CC didn't want to get in the car.  He said "I've waited a long time for my service dog I'm not leaving"!  Lol! I remember when I said that about my engagement ring that needed to get sent out to be sized!   Once again though we returned to finish the day but CC still wanted to play with toys and occasionally come to hug Pace.

Here we are on day 2.  We are getting ready to head over to class.  Tonight Pace will actually start to come back with us to the hotel.  Wish us luck!
